Nike to Withhold £1.5m Payment After TV Stations Blunder
TV Station ITV made a costly blunder on Saturday night, when they failed to show the last 10 seconds of the latest Nike ad: “Nike Write the Future” starring Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo along with NBA Star Kobe Bryant.
The blunder may cost the UK station £1.5m that Nike agreed to pay for the Prime time slot, which was after the Champions League Final on Saturday night. The ad was screened in 32 Countries simultaneously, except ITV seemed to crash with 10 seconds of the ad left to play. The ad feature’s Wayne Rooney being Knighted, Cristiano Ronaldo nutmegging Homer Simpson and NBA Star Kobe Bryant performing a Ronaldinho trick.
