Dwayne De Rosario came back to haunt his former club the Red Bulls, who traded him for Dax McCarthy just a few weeks ago, scoring the winner for his new club DC United last night.

MLS Highlights: Portland Timbers 3-3 New York Red Bulls
This game had everything, six goals, a red card and a saved penalty, as the Timbers and the Red Bulls played out a 3-3 draw.
John Rooney Drafted to New York Red Bulls
John Rooney, brother of Manchester United striker Wayne, was drafted to the MLS by New York Red Bull. 20-year old Rooney has stated he wants to step out of his older brothers shadows an make a name for himself – New York might just be the ideal spot for him.
Below is the goal Rooney scored at the MLS Combine last week.
New York Red Bull Beat Man City
Thierry Henry and his New York Red bulls team defeated Man City today in the Barclays New York Challenge by a scoreline of 2-1 today.
Big spending Man City were matched by their MLS opponents for the full 90 minutes and fell to an absolute cracker of a goal scored by right winger Dane Richards. The loss was City’s second in a row, having fallen to Sporting Lisbon earlier in the week 2-0. There is no doubt that Roberto Mancini will be unhappy with how the loss went down, considering the fact they missed a wide open goal right before the Red Bulls got their second goal.
Even though it is a preseason game, it shows just how much MLS teams are progressing. Beating a team like Man City – even without many of their top stars – is a great testament to the direction of the league and the fact that the American league is producing teams that can battle it out with the best teams in Europe. And when players like Thierry Henry hold a desire to play here, you know that the organization and structure is set up to attract the best players and continue to grow.
I must also say that I am pumped to see how the partnership between Henry and Juan Pablo Angel formulates. If they get it going, it will be potentially the deadliest strike force ever seen in MLS!

Thierry Henry Signs For New York Red Bull
After mounting speculation over the past few weeks, the New York Red Bulls have announced that their new designated player signing is Thierry Henry. Henry, who was the leading name being talked about over the past few weeks, will be presented to the media on Thursday. The 32-year old Frenchman was released from his Barcelona contract one year early in order to make the move. We also brought you a story a year ago talking about Henry’s desire to play in MLS.
“This marks an exciting new chapter in my career and life,” said Henry.
“It is an honour to play for the New York Red Bulls. I am fully aware of the team’s history and my sole goal during my time here is to help win the club its first championship.
“Knowing Red Bull’s significant commitment to soccer locally and internationally, I am confident that my team-mates and I will succeed.”
I am personally excited for MLS as this marks another huge milestone in bringing the best players into the league. The move increases the validity of the game and I am sure Henry will help increase attendance figures. His partnership with Juan Pablo Angel looks extremely tasty on paper, and could set in motion one of the most potent strike partnerships ever seen in the league. On a personal note, this does not make me like Henry anymore. Even though the World Cup is over, I am still extremely bitter about not having my country here. But I do wish him the best of luck and hope he can set the league on fire!
Henry is expected to make his debut on July 22 against Tottenham at Red Bull Arena.
