Liverpool and Newcastle play to-night with former Toon idol Andy Carroll ready to lead the Liverpool line, given Luis Suarez’s one match ban picked up after given the Fulham fans the one fingered salute earlier in the month.
But wouldn’t it be great if this fixture produced another 7 goal thriller which it has thrown up twice in the 90′s, first in 1996 and again the following season.
And who can say for sure this game won’t be a goal fest given Liverpool have been creating chance after chance without putting their opponents to the sword and yet with Newcastle you couldn’t deny them that right now they probably have the most in-form striker behind Robin Van Persie in Demba Ba leading their line, lets hope it’s a goal fest one which I think could again break the 7 goal mark between these two sides.
Oldham Set up Dream Liverpool Clash
League One strugglers Oldham have set-up a dream Fa Cup 3rd Round clash with Liverpool next month after beating ten man Southend 1-0 in their Second Round replay.
Paul Dickov’s side dominated after the Shrimpers were reduced to ten men in the second half and can now concentrate on a big pay-day for the club next month when they visit Anfield, one former legend who I bet will be their to over see his beloved Oldham is former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes who will no doubt be delighted with the draw.
Suarez Goal v QPR
Luis Suarez heads Liverpool to three valuable points at Anfield against QPR. With the amount of chances Liverpool created today it won’t be long before someone receives a hammering from them.
