Macheda Ready For QPR Move
Manchester United’s 20 year old Italian striker Federico Macheda is 95% certain he’ll be playing the rest of the season on-loan at QPR after his agent confirmed United manager Sir Alex Ferguson wants to keep the Italian in a United shirt despite a poor return since his season long loan at Sampdoria where they were relegated into the Serie B.
Macheda to Partner Rooney
With practice back in session at Carrington training ground, Manchester United fans are starting to wonder who they can expect on the field come the Premier League kick off in six weeks. One of the positions in particular that is stirring interest is who will partner Wayne Rooney up top. Well, we have heard through the grape vine that Sir Alex Ferguson has his mind set on giving Federico Macheda the nod as the starting striker.
Sir Alex is ready to put his trust in the young star in order to give him valuable Premier League experience, just as he did with Cristiano Ronaldo. Macheda, who only started five games last season scoring 1 goal, could be the perfect compliment to play alongside Rooney as he has aerial ability and plenty of skill to create on the ground. Standing at 6 foot, the 18 year old became a cult hero by scoring the winning goal versus Aston Villa after coming off the bench 2 seasons ago. Last season he suffered some injuries that kept him sidelined for most of the campaign, but Ferguson did call on him in several games towards the end of the season.
If Macheda does start up top it will mean a bench role for Dimitar Berbatov, a player Ferguson has insisted will be staying at the club. United are unlikely to sign any more strikers after acquiring Mexican international Javier Hernandez already in the off season, with the young striker likely to be loaned out to Spain in order to give him experience of the European game. United open up the season at home to Newcastle United, possibly a perfect game for Rooney and Macheda to test their partnership up top.
