Dutch Fan Given 4 Month Jail Term For Attempted Assault
The 19 year old Dutch fan who’s attempted assault on AZ Alkmaar keeper Esteban Alvarado turned sour when the Costa Rican stopper turned aggressor and kicked the fan to the ground was given a four year jail term yesterday.
He was also given an additional two month suspended sentence and ordered to report to Police during matches involving Ajax, AZ Alkmaar and the Dutch national team for two years.
Esteban’s red card received after kicking the fan was rescinded by the Dutch FA and the replay for the abandoned game fixed for January 19 to be played behind closed doors.

Yaya Toure may face a three game ban after being seen kicking and then slapping Chelsea’s Juan Mata during City’s 2-1 defeat to Chelsea Monday night. Although the incident wasn’t seen by the referee Toure may face trial by TV or will the FA turn a blind eye to the incident?

Two Iranian Players Banned Indefinitely For Bum Grope Celebration
Two Iranian player’s have been banned from entering any Iranian stadiums, after the Iranian FA deemed their Persian Gulf Cup goal celebrations too intimate.
Mohammed Nosrati and Sheis Rezael were banned indefinitely for their goal celebrations during the Persian Gulf Cup tie between Persepolis and Damash Gilan which was broadcasted live in the staunchly Islamic Country. Persepolis have failed to comment on their player’s ban’s, probably for fear of incrimination?
Steaua Match Abandoned After Defender Punched By Fan
Steaua Bucharest’s game against Petrolul Ploiesti was abandoned after Steaua defender George Galamaz was punched in the head by a fan, who consequently got a well deserved kicking by Galamaz’s team-mates in the centre circle, two of which were sent off for their actions. The game restarted with Steaua leading 2-0 before their keeper was hit with a flare prompting a 20 minute delay before the referee saw common sense and abandoned the tie.
