United are believed to be worth a staggering $2.24 billion (£1.4 billion), even overshadowing the New York Yankees and the Dallas Cowboys who have a massive fan base in the US.
Real Madrid and Barcelona are gaining ground fast however and with both clubs still in the Champions League semi-finals they will definately gain more ground with United failing to make the knock-out stages of this seasons competition.

Manchester United restored their 5 point lead at the top of the Premier League today with an emphatic 4-0 win over Aston Villa today at Old Trafford.
Wayne Rooney opened the scoring from the penalty spot before Danny Wellbeck doubled United’s lead two minutes before half-time after a mix-up in the Villa defence.
Rooney grabbed his second of the game 18 minutes from the end after great link up play with Antonio Valencia before Jonny Evans set-up Nani for their fourth.
