This AFC Cahamions League game between Iranian side Sepahan ans Saudi Arabia’s Al Ahli ended 0-0, however there was fireworks as this tie quite literally went up in smoke.
The quarterfinal first leg was temporarily interrupted when the referee ran to one of the sidelines to inspect debris thrown on the field by fans.
Sepahan midfielder Adel Kolahkaj picked up a small, black object and tossed it away from the pitch. Turns out that object was some kind of mini grenade or firecracker.
No one was hurt in the incident, and the game was allowed to continue after a security check pity there was no security letting the fan’s in and this incident could have been avoided.
