Manchester United are safely through to the last 16 of the League Cup after a 2-1 win over fellow Premier League side Newcastle at Old Trafford.
Anderson opened the scoring with a stunning 25 yard strike which hit the post and went in making the strike look even more flash than it actually was, while Tom Cleverley cooly finished off a wonderful pass from Danny Welbeck to put the homeside 2-0 up, Papiss Cisse grabbed a consolation goal with a header after the United defence failed to read the cross as did United keeper David De Gea.
