30 year old British freestyle footballer Matt Wolstenholme set a world record 20km or 50 laps of an athletics track while juggling a ball for over 5 hours through the lashes of rain to boot in August.
Matt when recovered said:
“Most of the time I simply kicked the ball from foot to foot, but there were a couple of hairy moments around the bends and every once in a while I had to use my knees to control the ball.
“It was a tough challenge, I was out there for five hours in the wind and rain and I didn’t eat or drink anything. Everything was aching by the end, but it was worth it.”
Wolstenholme’s record was actually set back on August 30th, but Wolstenholme faced a long and nervy wait while Guinness crunched their numbers and eventually got around to officially confirming the record yesterday.
