Didier Deschamps has become the latest French world cup winner to take the French hotseat following Laurent Blanc’s resignation following this Summer’s Euro 2012 finals.
Deschamps left Marseille almost a week ago following the clubs poor Lique campaign and spent days mulling over the French Federations job offer.
Deschamps first job will be to heal the rift within the squad before their 2014 world cup qualifiers with double Euro champions and World champions Spain in the same group.
If the French are to qualify automatically they will need all the team spirit and togetherness they can muster to succeed.
