Union de Santa Fe’s Marcelo Sarmiento challenges for the ball with Newells Old Boy’s Fabian Munoz, with Sarmiento coming out with his foot pointing in the wrong direction. Sarmiento even forgave Munos for his gruesome broken leg saying: “[Munoz] came to the locker room while I was being treated. He was heartbroken, he could not stop crying as he tried to apologise to me. It was then that I realised [the tackle] was not intentional.”
“It was stupid, but I know it was not intended to hurt me. I understood and I reassured him too.”
