Former Republic of Ireland manager Brian Kerr has stepped down as the Faroe Island’s manager despite a relatively successful Euro 2012 campaign which included a win against the Republic’s euro 2012 play-off opponents Estonia. The Faroe’s were hoping Kerr would lead them through another qualifying campaign but the loveable Irish manager decided the time was right to step down. Ironically the Faroe’s will meet the Rep of Ireland in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers but it will be without the guidance of Kerr who is now favourite to take up the vacant Northern Ireland post.
