Wolves have tied down Irish striker Kevin Doyle to the club until 2015, which should rule out Arsene Wenger attempting to sign him in the January transfer window having been a Gunner’s target in the Summer.
A deligted Mick McCarthy told www.wolves.co.uk: “It’s great news that Kevin has signed the new contract and his future is now secured for another four years. He has been a key player for us in maintaining our Premier League status over the last two seasons when he has made a major contribution.”
McCarthy added: “From day one when he arrived he settled at the club and has been the consummate professional in the way he plays and also conducts himself off the pitch.
“He remains a big part of what we are trying to achieve here, and we are delighted that he has agreed to extend his stay.”
