Sunderland have suspended defender Titus Bramble after he was arrested early Wednesday morning for alleged sexual assault and possession of a Class A drug.
Bramble was grilled for 15 hours before being released on bail pending further enqueries. Bramble who earns £40,000 a week at Sunderland was out on the town on Tuesday night for the weekly singles night known to locals as ‘grab a granny night and was getting all the attention from the Ladies as he posed for photo’s, but it all turned sour at 2.40am when the player and a lady left in a cab for his home.
The cabbie became concerned as he noticed the lady in a distressed state and drve to his local Police station, where Bramble was arrested for alleged assault and when searched he was allegedly in possession of a Class A drug.
It’s not the first time the defender has been on the wrong side of the law, 13 months ago he and his brother Tesfaye were arrested on suspicion of rape, Titus was released without charge but Tesfaye was convicted of the offence and was jailed for 4 and a half years.
