At only 16-years old, Lexi Thompson has just carved her name into the history books, becoming the youngest ever winner of a LPGA tournament. Thompson closed with a final round of 2-under Sunday to win the Navistar LPGA Classic, beating Tiffany Joh by five strokes to finish at 17-under 271.
Under the current LPGA rules, players must be 18 to join professionally – but Thompson is set to petition in order to be allowed to participate full-time. She has openly stated that she has no intentions to play on the PGA tour.
When you consider the winning prize was $195,000 and the fact Thompson already has a range of apparel with Puma, her future is starting to look very bright!
