Manchester United suffered some defensive set backs on the opening day of the EPL season, leaving them with some tweaking to do at the back as they prepare for next weekends game with Spurs.
The centerback partnership of Vidic and Ferdinand only lasted 60 minutes, before Vidic limped off with what is probably a nerve issue according to Alex Ferguson. Ferdinand followed soon after with a hamstring problem, and he will definitely be out for up to 6 weeks. Both injuries come days after Rafael was sidelined with a shoulder injury – one which requires surgery and will see him sitting out for up to 8 weeks.
Another dilemma for Sir Alex Ferguson lies with his choice of keeper, after De Gea let in another suspect goal, his second in 2 weekends. Of course, Ferguson is backing his $25million purchase but her must have some reservations going into a string of key early season fixtures.
