Liverpool brought Manchester United’s title charge tumbling to the ground at Anfield today as Dirk Kuyt scored his first ever Liverpool hat-trick, ironically it was Peter Beardsley who scored a hat-trick against United 20 years ago when Kenny Dalglish was last in charge of Liverpool who beat United 4-1.
Liverpool’s younger legs out ran Manchester United’s midfield and to be fair deserved their comfortable win which may have stopped United winning their 19th title, only time will tell. United did get a late consolation goal when Javier Hernandez headed home.
