Italy’s Serie A will be thrown into chaos this week-end as players are set to strike in protest over their Human Rights.

The player’s strike was announced by AC Milan captain Massimo Oddo on behalf of the Italian Players Union (AIC)..

Oddo explained: “This decision comes from way back after we did not receive any response to our attempts to come to an agreement with the Lega”.

Oddo added: “We, players are fed up of being treated like objects and not Human Beings. We are talking about Human Rights, such as being denied the right to do other activities or work rights”.

Other players who attended the the press conference were Gennaro Gattuso, Ivan Cordoba, Javier Zanetti and Clarence Seedorf.

The players maintain that some clubs try to force players in their last year of contract to leave the club in order to receive a transfer fee before the players contract runs out and leaving on a free transfer, the players are also looking to receive image rights for promotions players are involved with.

Whats your stance on Players image rights? Should they be allowed to receive money for their image rights or should their clubs be entitled to these riches? Have your say, let us know your stance.
