Bradford City striker Gavin Grant has been found guilty of murder. Grant (26) was found guilty of shooting dead Leon Lebastite in London in 2004.
One Detective added after the guilty verdict: “Gavin Grant thought he had got away with murder, he carried on his footballing career while, all along, he had blood on his hands.”
The court also heard how Grant had been linked to numerous shootings in the London area, but the striker still denies the murder.
In a further twist Grant was also accused of killing Jahmall Moore in 2005 but was cleared of the murder in 2007 by a jury.
Grant started his English League career with Gillingham in 2005 making 10 appearances scoring only once. He then Joined Millwall in 2006-08 appearing four times for the Lions without a goal to his name.
In 2008 he had a successful spell on loan at Stevenage scoring seven goals in 14 games before joining Wycombe Wanderers as he failed to make an impact for the Chairboys appearing only ten times in two seasons.
In 2010 Bradford City signed the striker where he had only made ten appearances never scoring for City.
