Fergie Gives Anti-Glazer Protesters the Boot

2010 July 29

Sir Alex Ferguson has kicked the Anti-Glazer protesters into touch by insisting the Glazer family have done a great job in keeping the club at the very top in World Soccer since their takeover in 2005.

Last season was marred by Anti-Glazer protesters who wore Yellow and Green scarfs in a throw-back to the colours worn by Newton Heath before the club were re-named Manchester United in April 1902.

The Anti-Glazer fan’s have been incensed since it was reported that the club had to sell prize asset Cristiano Ronaldo in order to fund the Glazer families other loans outside the club and they were further incensed when the club failed to replace the Winger with a high profile name since his departure to Madrid.

But Fergie who was speaking after the team beat an All-Star MLS 5-2 last night has defended the Glazer family saying: “I have to say they’ve done their job well. They support me as manager and they’ve supported the players. I’ve never been refused when I’ve asked for money for a player. So what can I do other than carry on the way we’re doing. I’ve no complaints.

Though Fergies support of the Glazer family won’t deter the protesters who have a famous banner which reads: “Love United, Hate Glazer” from keeping their campaign going to get rid of the Glazer family, it may make them see that if he wasn’t happy with the clubs owners he wouldn’t back them up maybe they should get a new banner which reads: “In Fergie We Trust” because most United fans do trust him and why shouldn’t they after what he has brought to the club over the years. Hail Fergie.
