While SPL rivals Rangers have been selling their player’s, new Celtic manager Neil Lennon seems to be buying like crazy, having secured the signatures of five player’s already this summer, Joe Ledley, Efrain Juarez, Daryl Murphy, Cha Du-Ri and Charlie Mulgrew, Lennon’s buying is still not finished.
Lennon has targeted England and Portsmouth keeper David James (39) as the ideal replacement for Italy bound keeper Artur Boruc and is set to splash the cash to get his man.
Lennon has also been in talks with free agent and Former England Centre-half Sol Campbell on a possible switch to the SPL as he tries to shore up the Celtic defence in a bid to wrestle the SPL Title from Glasgow rivals Rangers.
Other targets are midfielder Jimmy Bullard who Hull City want to remove from their wage bill in order to keep the club a float.
Republic of Ireland winger Liam Lawrence is also a top target for the Parkhead club with Aiden McGeady set to depart the club.
Scunthorpe striker Gary Hooper is also wanted to bolster his attacking options having seen Robbie Keane return to Tottenham after a rather successful loan spell with the Celts. Hooper scored 19 goals last season for Scunthorpe and has caught the eye of Former Celtic manager Gordon Strachan who wants to bring him to the Riverside.
Nottingham Forest defender Kelvin Wilson is also on Lennon’s radar with a £2.5m bid ready to be tabled for the defender.
Lennon has also reiterated that on their return from the clubs U.S Tour he will be on the look out for more players as he seeks to bring the glory days back to Parkhead.
Are Lennons new signings or transfer targets going to stop Rangers retaining their SPL Title are are they just player’s looking to make a quick buck.?
