French World Cup Star Zinedine Zidane will play in ITV’s live annual charity match. The last time Zidane played on live TV was in the 2006 World Cup Final, against Italy, when he was sent-off for head-butting Italy’s Marco Materazzi. He recently said of the incident: “I would rather die” than apologise to Materazzi, who he claims insulted his sick mother, which instigated the incident.
Zidane will be joined by Crickets Brian Lara, Pop Group Westlife, and Ex-Celtic Legend Henrik Larsson as part of the Rest of the World team to take on England.
The England side consists of Comedian, James Corden, Celebrity Chef, Gordon Ramsey, Boxer, Ricky Hatton and Ex-Players,Alan Shearer, Teddy Sheringham, David Seaman and Jamie Redknapp.
It is sure to wet the appetite for the upcoming World Cup Finals in South Africa. The event is organised by Pop Star Robbie Williams who has been involved in organising charity events like this for UNICEF since 2006.
The match itself is on at Old Trafford on 6 June and promise’s to be a great event fo a great charity.
