After leaving you yesterday with the Irish Grand National field narrowed down to 12 horses, I sat down and read the formguide for this wonderful race and was able to narrow down the field further, leaving us down to seven horses to pick from. Here’s the five horses I eliminated and why:
Double Dizzy: This horse finished second in a race on good ground which suggests to me he won’t handle the soft to heavy ground at Fairyhouse.
Knock on the Head: Has run on heavy ground this year but his form is very poor so oppose.
Will Jamie Run: Has good form on heavy ground but has not run a race this year over 3 miles suggesting to me he won’t stay the distance to win this marathon race.
Bronte Bay: This horses form suggests to stay well clear and that’s exactly what I will be doing oppose.
Leanne: Has been running on heavy ground of late, but form suggests she’s no winner.
Now with the field narrowed down to just 7 from 30 horses I hope this will help you find the winner. Here’s what I think of the remaining 7 runners chances.
Moskova:12/1 for the race and a real contender especially as the jockey has picked this one over stable companion Alpha Ridge.
Telenor: Loves the soft or heavy ground another contender.
Hangover: Likes the heavy ground also and if this one wins there will be plenty of hangovers.
Stewarts Point: Won his last race on heavy ground and another lively contender.
Agus a Vic: Has won on heavy carrying 12st in the race, is 2st 1lbs lighter in this race Each Way chance
Alpha Ridge: Has been second on three occasions this term, good chance of a place at the very least.
Saddlers Storm: The favourite for this race and a worthy one at that won last three going for four in a row.
That’s it from me good luck for Monday. And don’t forget to take advantage of FREE £20 BET with Paddy Power and also they will have the best odds on the race as they are sponsors.
