U.S Keepers Battle Ends In Stalemate

This was built up to be a battle of the U.S keepers, while both done nothing wrong they also had little to do in this bore draw.

Wolves no.1 Marcus Hahnemann would have loved to have got one over on U.S team-mate Tim Howard today not only to increase his chances of ousting him out of his number 1 status with the U.S World Cup squad but also to have bragging rights over his country man.

Hahnemann had this to say about his team-mate before the game:

“I’ve not spoken to him this week but I’d like to get one over on him.

“We’re always in camp together and I should be going to the World Cup too.”

He added: It’s disappointing when you look and I have only six caps. But we have some unbelievable keepers. We all get along.

“It kind of sucks our keepers are so good. That’s why Only have six caps. I just need to keep doing what I can.”

The U.S have been lucky in recent times with keepers having had Kasey Keller and Brad Friedel to call upon. And they will have no worries if Howard doesn’t make the Finals as they have a ready replacement in Marcus Hahnemann who has been instrumental in Wolves current successful run which has seen them pull away from the dreaded drop zone.
