Argentina’s Lionel Messi has knocked David Beckham off the top of soccer’s rich list. Messi tops the list earning a staggering £29.6m, Beckham comes in second on £27.3m, £2.3m less than his Argentine counter part.
Cristiano Ronaldo only makes third spot £100,000 less than Beckham on £26.9m.
Kaka comes fourth on £16.9m, still £12.7m short of Messi’s earnings.
In fifth is Thierry Henry on £16.2m.
Sixth is Beckham’s team mate Ronaldinho on £15.4m
Seventh is Carlos Tevez earning £13.8m the highest in the Premier League.
Eighth is Zlatan Ibrahimovic on £13m.
Ninth is Frank Lampard only the second Premier League player to make the top ten on £12.4m.
And finally in tenth is Samuel E”to on £12.4m.
On this evidence it is clear that players plying their trade in the Spanish La Liga earn more than there counter parts, surprisingly even more than the Premier League players.
